Helena Bianco and Micky will be at the Badajoz Senior Fair

The musical performance ‘Festival años 70’, with Helena Bianco (Winner of the Senior Voice 2019), Micky, Raúl Santana and Trigo Limpio, is one of the main activities of the twenty-fourth edition of the Fair for the Elderly of Extremadura, which will have place in Ifeba from March 23 to 26. This performance will take place on Saturday 25 at 5:00 p.m.

The program also highlights the flamenco performance of Esther Merino, winner in 2022 of the Mining Lamp at the prestigious International Festival of Cante de las Minas. It will be on Friday the 24th, also at 5:00 p.m.

The Fair for the Elderly was presented this Thursday by the councilor of Ifeba, Blanca Subirán, and the director of the fair, Pepa Dueñas.

Both also highlighted the fact that the National Police will have a stand to renew the license for those over 65 years of age. This year the possibility of obtaining the electronic ID pin is added, and there will also be an exhibition: ‘Past and present of the National Police’, which will include elements such as historical uniforms, decorations, insignia and historical documents, Tedax robot and a drone , among others.

Domingo 26

Another outstanding element will be on Sunday 26, with the celebration of Family Day at the Fair. With this day we want to encourage intergenerational presence, since the programmed activities are aimed at all its members, and will include, among others, a hiking route for grandparents and grandchildren, which will end in Ifeba with a bacon roast on the 12:30 pm, as well as children’s performances, the Dekebais and Bichejos troupes, and the Mini-Folk murga, indicate from the fair institution.

The program is completed by the presence of a mobile environmental education classroom, gastronomic tastings, talks, participatory workshops, a dance floor with an orchestra, Latin dances, contests, exhibitions, performances or theater.

During his speech, Subirán stressed that the City Council takes “very much into account active aging policies that allow the elderly to remain dynamic and busy in old age.”

For this reason, the Fair for the Elderly of Extremadura maintains an important cultural, educational and recreational content, as well as being a meeting point for the elderly from Extremadura and Alentejo neighbors.

The opening hours will be uninterrupted; for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
