Vienna (OTS) – Stefan Ribitsch presents “Heimat Fremde Heimat” on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 1.30 p.m. on ORF 2 with the following topics:
School out – now what?
As part of the “Heimat Fremde Heimat” school project “Digital Learning – Diversity and Empowerment”, four young people are setting out to get a taste of those industries that are desperately looking for employees. When visiting a global technology company, in an organic hotel and in conversation with a teacher, the young people learn regarding the advantages and disadvantages of the individual sectors. In any case, the companies rate the bilingualism and the cultural diversity experiences of the students as helpful, as Sabina Zwitter reports.
Immigrant single mother
Raquel Martinez comes from the Dominican Republic and came to Austria more than 20 years ago. She raised her daughter Leticia alone. Her stories regarding her work as an unskilled worker stand for many migrant single mothers who do superhuman things to be able to offer their children a better future in Austria. Leticia is currently in seventh grade at a high school in Salzburg and is grateful to her mother for never feeling that she was worth less or had less than everyone else. A report by Sabina Zwitter.
“Foresights” with Christian Kolonovits
Christian Kolonovits is often referred to as “Austria’s Quincy Jones”. With his arrangements, he has ensured that the songs of the stars can shine in a new guise. Kolonovits, son of a Hungarian mother, was born in Rechnitz in Burgenland. Cultural diversity is not only important to him on a musical level. Commitment to refugees and commitment to diversity are a matter of course for him. Christian Kolonovits sees music as a tried and tested means of bringing everyone together. Sabina Zwitter met the artist as part of “Weitblicke”.
