hedging rate down for the first five months of the current year

Over the first five months of the current year, the coverage rate of the Tunisian trade balance lost 5.7 percentage points, compared to the same period of 2021, to stand at 70, 1%, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Saturday.

In a note on Tunisia’s foreign trade during the first five months of 2022, the INS reports that the trade balance deficit reached 9,929.4 million dinars (at current prices) once morest a deficit of 5,941, 1 million dinars (one dinar is equivalent to 0.33 dollars).

During this same period, Tunisian exports increased by around 25.1% once morest 24.7% in 2021.

In value, Tunisian exports reached 23,283.3 million dinars once morest 18,610.5 million dinars during the first five months of last year.

With regard to imports, the balance sheet of the INS mentions an increase of 35.3% for a value of 33,212.7 million dinars over the first five months of the current year, once morest 16.8% for a value of 24,551.6 million dinars during the same period of 2021.
