Hecken turned around and won against Hammarby

The hedge set full speed forward directly at home at the Bravida arena. Then Amor Layouni was behind most of the first few minutes – but Hammarby resisted.

Bajen initially had to engage in counterplay, where Hisingsklubben continued to push the team up and, among others, Simon Gustafson got into a sharp finishing position. But the shot missed the far post.

After an eventful first quarter, the pace of the game calmed down a bit and the match picture evened out. Then instead Hammarby was able to get to a sharp goal chance where both Nahir Besara and Jusef Erabi were involved – but Häcken was able to clear for a goalless corner.

In the next moment, Häcken countered with lightning speed through Layouni, but Hammarby resolved the situation following a weaker attempt from the Häcken star.

In the 30th minute, it was finally time for the first goal of the match. And it was Hammarby who would be responsible for that. Nahir Besara’s free kick was headed by Häcken’s Mikkel Rygaard – and Edvin Kurtulus was able to score 0-1 right in front of the goal.

Ten minutes later, Viktor Djukanovic came close to extending the borata lead. But the curled shot towards the far cross was sharply saved by Andreas Linde.

– The first ten I think they do well and we have a hard time closing in behind, but then we take over more and more. In the end, it is us who have the baton and they mostly run on counterattacks, says Hammarby’s Fredrik Hammar to Discovery+ during the break.

Häcken’s Zeidane Inoussa in the same broadcast:

– We have chances to score. It is important that we are more accurate up front. We keep them out on the sides and we should have scored more goals this half.

Hammarby would get to a sharp chance immediately following the break. Nahir Besara’s finish, on the other hand, was not well-directed enough and hit the far post.

The fence stood up at times, but it was Bajen that was the better team at the start of the second half. Then Besara got another party mode, following a nice action by Kurtulus, but Linde came out quickly and made herself big enough to save.

After 55 minutes, Bajen star Viktor Djukanovic was forced off with an injury problem, and was replaced by Abdelrahman Boudah.

In the same vein, Häcken was able to take over the game more and more and move the team forward – and with that arranged a whole bunch of corners. And in the 62nd minute it would pay off.

Zeidane Inoussa was able in a second wave following a corner to play Simon Gustafson, who in turn scored the equalizer for Hisingslaget.

After the goal, the match picture opened up further, where not least Häcken got into a couple of hot situations. One of them fell to substitute Blair Turgott, but Oliver Dovin made an exemplary save.

Then it swung once more and Hammarby created a couple of hot goal chances – but without payoff.

But with less than five minutes remaining, Häcken would complete the turnaround. Then Even Hovland was strongest on a corner and was able to score 2-1 to Häcken in front of the home team.

Hammarby’s Kim Hellberg speaks following the match:

– I think we play a good away game. All the stats I’ve seen say we have a good game and absolutely shouldn’t lose it. The eye says that we are fairly leading the match and have the chance to kill it, he says and continues:

– The fence periodically receives pressure following the break, but we defend ourselves very well. After their 1-1 goal it swings a bit and they score on one of their chances and we don’t. It’s heavy. I suffer with the lads who put so much energy into defending the penalty area.

Hecken’s coach Paco Johansen also gives his view..

– We had the ball more than Hammarby. It’s not easy. We did well, but then Hammarby took the lead, he says and continues:

– We have a good goalkeeper in Andreas Linde until we get good pressure. In terms of the game, I am satisfied, but we can be sharper in creating more goal chances. We are delighted to win and it is mentally strong to come back.
