HEC Montréal students win the Battle on Bay contest | News

Maxime Amyot, Nathan Boisjoly, Frederic Lasnier et Mark-Andrew Zarow-Robinstudents in the Bachelor of Business Administration, won the 1re place at the Battle on Bay investment competition in Toronto.

The event, which took place from January 12 to 15, is organized annually by the Ted Rogers School of Management in Toronto Metropolitan University.

This year’s edition focused on the theme of Fintech – those companies that use new technologies to offer innovative financial services.

Initially, the participating teams had one week to carry out an analysis on a North American stock. They then had to prepare a 15-minute presentation to shareholders.

In a 2e time, with a preparation time of only 90 minutes, the teams had to develop a recommendation on the acquisition of Solar City by Tesla and present it to a jury, also in 15 min.

The 2023 edition of Battle on Bay brought together some 16 baccalaureate teams from 12 universities across Canada.

The team of HEC Montreal was driven by Julien Galissona graduate of the School.
