On the other hand, Avichay Adraee, the Israeli army spokesman, said in a statement, “Reports were received about a suspect opening fire inside the town of Karmei Tzur in the Etzion region, where a suspect was neutralized in the area. The incident is still ongoing.”
According to Yedioth Ahronoth, “the security services are examining whether there is a connection between the vehicle bombing in Gush Etzion and the shooting in Karmei Tzur.”
For its part, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that “the background to the vehicle bombing near Etzion is under investigation.”
Channel 12 reported that “the Israeli army is asking residents of the Karmei Tzur settlement near Hebron to stay in their homes for fear of additional Palestinian gunmen infiltrating.”
