A company in Kremsmünster lost power and water supply today – there was heavy smoke. 16 fire brigades were deployed, at least one worker was hospitalized with suspected smoke inhalation.

Kremmunster. A total power failure occurred at a company in Kremsmünster today (December 3, 2022), which in turn resulted in the failure of the water supply for the glass tanks and the spring lines at the so-called hot end. As reported by the police, overheating occurred when the emergency power generators were activated and the switchover to the local water supply was made. This caused a lot of smoke to develop, and the factory buildings were also filled with smoke. At least one shift worker was taken to the Pyhrn-Eisenwurzen Klinikum Kirchdorf by the rescue service with suspected smoke inhalation.

The state fire brigade command triggered alarm level 2 and ordered a total of 16 fire brigades from the area to the company. The fire brigades, together with the shift workers, restored the power and water supply to the facilities. The halls were ventilated. According to the first surveys, the power failure probably caused no damage to the systems apart from the loss of production, according to the police. However, she announced further surveys.
