Heavy rains in Biscucuy! In the early hours of this Saturday, August 17, users on social networks reported the overflow of streams after heavy rains in Biscucuy, state Portuguese.

According to information provided by Portuguese state journalist Mariángel Colmenares, a house hit by an avalanche caused the death of a 38-year-old woman.

He also highlighted that this incident occurred in the La Montañita sector of the state. The official report from the authorities on this incident is expected.

“Heavy rains recorded since 6:00 pm on Friday, August 16, caused streams and the Saguaz River to overflow, causing flooding in the La Tembladora sector, Biscucuy, Sucre Municipality,” he said on his account on the social network X.

Similarly, Colmenares reported that residents of the area reported landslides and fallen trees on the Guanare-Biscucuy highway.

Governor of Biscucuy visits areas affected by heavy rains

For his part, the governor of the entity, Primitivo Cedeño, reported on his account on the social network Instagram that they are carrying out a deployment to determine the most affected areas.

“In light of the recent situation caused by the arrival of Tropical Wave Number 30, we have taken the initiative to travel to the most affected areas to assess the damage and assist the population.”

“Our commitment is to be present where it is most needed and to provide immediate support,” the governor stressed.
