As of 8 a.m., heavy rain warnings are in effect mainly in the eastern and southern parts of Gyeonggi-do.
Heavy rain warnings were issued in Yangpyeong, Yeoju, and Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, and heavy rain warnings were issued in Gwangju, Yongin, and Hanam.
Heavy rain warnings have been issued for Hongcheon, Wonju, and Hoengseong in Gangwon-do as the rain clouds move to the east.
From 0 am to the present day, it rained a lot at dawn in the metropolitan area, with 110 mm in Yongin, 107 mm in Yeoju, and 103.8 mm in Incheon.
Heavy rain warnings issued for Seoul and Incheon have all been lifted overnight.
However, by this morning, heavy rain is expected mainly in the metropolitan area and Gangwon Yeongseo area.
It was found that the water level at the Pilseung Bridge at the northernmost tip of the Imjin River was 2.43 meters at 8:20 am, exceeding the 2 meters standard for evacuation of people due to rain that fell overnight.
The expected precipitation is 20 to 70mm in the metropolitan area, and more than 120mm in many places.
In particular, in Incheon and the west coast of Gyeonggi-do, there may be places with very strong rain of around 40mm per hour accompanied by thunder and lightning.
In addition, 20 to 70mm of rain is expected in Gangwonyeongseo, Chungbuk, Jeonnam, and Gyeongsangnam-do.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) urged people to pay special attention to flooding, river flooding, and rapid currents, saying that using riverside trails or underpasses can lead to isolation.
The rain is expected to end within today in most areas.
After the rain stops, the temperature will rise sharply and the steamy heat will continue, and there will be places where the heat wave warning will be expanded or strengthened.
