Heavy rain in Balochistan, Gwadar submerged – Pakistan

Western winds have entered Balochistan due to which heavy rain is falling in various areas including Gwadar. Many areas of Gwadar were inundated and water entered houses. According to the ongoing alert of PDMA, there is a risk of flooding in the river channels of the province.

Heavy rain is continuing in Pak-Iran and Pak-Afghan border areas including Taftan, Nokundi and Dalbandin.

In Gwadar, due to heavy rain with strong winds, the areas have been submerged in water, the situation is very bad, water has accumulated on the main roads, Fazil Chowk, Mala Band Road and other places including the roads and streets have water everywhere. There is water, the water has also entered inside the houses, while there is fear of damage to small and big boats due to strong winds.

According to the Meteorological Department, Quetta, Gwadar, Kech, Awaran, Chagai, Kharan, Pasni, Ormara, Lasbela, Khuzdar, Kalat, Nushki, Jhal Magsi, Nasirabad, Sibi, Kohlo, Dera Bugti, Loralai, Harnai, Ziarat, Chaman and Qila. It rained in other areas including Saifullah.

According to Director PDMA Atta Niaz, the rains that started today will continue for three more days.

Spokesman Balochistan government Shahid Rind says that there was an alert related to rains and arrangements have been made accordingly. The biggest challenge at present is the cleaning of the drains and the encroachments on them, steps are being taken to remove them together with the district government.
