Abu Dhabi: Rescue operations are continuing in the eastern areas of the UAE due to flooding following heavy rains. Houses, streets and shops were flooded. On Thursday, the Ministry of Interior shared a video of members of the Civil Defense rescuing a family from the flooded Al Fazeel area of Fujairah.
This is a video of a family being rescued from a villa. The family to which the child belongs has been shifted from here. The ministry has also shared a video of an officer carrying a child on his shoulders while rescuing a family in Kalba.
Due to heavy rains on Wednesday, there were floods in various places in Fujairah, UAE. Then the UAE army stepped in to evacuate the people to safe places and deliver emergency aid. Many places in the emirate were flooded with roads and wadis. In some places people’s residences were flooded.
UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum ordered emergency rescue operations in Fujairah. Sheikh Mohammed had directed the Ministry of Interior to deploy disaster relief and rescue teams from other emirates to Fujairah and the eastern regions of the country.

The UAE Ministry of Defense tweeted on Thursday that the rescue operation was continuing in coordination with Fujairah authorities. Heavy rains have caused severe flooding in the eastern part of the country. Some houses were damaged and vehicles were washed away, according to local media reports.
Meanwhile, Fujairah, UAE, which received heavy rain on Wednesday, is warned that it will continue to rain today. The UAE Meteorological Center has issued a red alert in Fujairah. A red alert is a reminder that severe weather is expected and extreme caution is required.
The National Meteorological Center has also announced an Orange Alert in Ras Al Khaimah Emirate. A yellow alert is a request to follow the instructions issued by the authorities and be cautious.
Heavy rain with thunder in Qatar
Doha: Heavy rain in Qatar. Heavy rains have been received in various parts of Qatar including Doha since Thursday morning. The rain continued for several hours.
It rained in Doha, Al Wakrah, Al Rayan, Ain Khalid and Abu Hamour. Traffic was also disrupted in some places due to heavy rain. Some parts of the country received light rain on Wednesday as well. Officials advised people to take precautions in the wake of rain. Authorities had earlier warned that there will be heavy rain and wind this week. In case of emergency, call 999.
