The countdown to the payment of the heating allowance has begun, which will take place in three phases until the process is completed at the end of April 2024. Credits to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries will begin next Friday, December 22.
Immediately after, the next two phases will follow, in February and April.
The “map” of payments
The three payment dates of the heating allowance are as follows:
- until December 22, 2023 for the down payment and all purchases, invoiced
- until November 30, 2023, as long as these correspond to a benefit that exceeds the amount of the advance payment and provided that the required information is registered until December 8, 2023,
- until February 29, 2024 for all purchases to be invoiced until January 31, 2024 and provided the required information is entered by February 15, 2024,
- until April 30, 2024 for all purchases to be invoiced until March 31, 2024 and provided the required information is entered by April 15, 2024.
Payments for natural gas
With regard to natural gas and for the consumption of thermal energy through district heating, purchase documents for the period 1/10/2023 to 31/03/2024 with the date of issuance of the payment document by 30 June 2024 and the corresponding allowance amount will be paid by 31 July 2024.
Payment of the above installments is made after deducting the advance payment.
The amount
The minimum amount of the allowance remains at 100 euros and the maximum at 800 euros. For those beneficiaries who stopped using natural gas for their heating and switched to heating oil or other means of heating, the allowance amounts will not be doubled, as was the case last year. Therefore, the maximum amount will also amount to 800 euros for them.
The allowance is granted for purchases of internal combustion heating oil, lighting oil (blue kerosene), natural gas, LPG, firewood, biomass (pellets) and thermal energy through district heating.
The condition is that the beneficiary purchases the subsidized types of fuel from October 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, and especially for heating oil, the purchases are made from October 13, 2023. For firewood, the purchases must have been made from June 1, 2023 to 31 March 2024.
It is noted that those who were beneficiaries of the heating allowance during the 2022-2023 winter period also receive as advance heating allowance the total amount of allowance that was paid to them during last year’s period.
However, according to newsbeast, if any of the beneficiaries of the subsidy received an advance during the 2022-2023 winter season, which was less than half (1/2) of the value of eligible purchases of subsidized types of heating fuel or thermal energy, then it is not down payment beneficiary.
