The orange heat wave alert triggered in the Alpes-Maritimes on Sunday led the City of Nice to take emergency measures to protect the most exposed, precarious and fragile people during this high heat.

Open as long as the hot weather continues

From this Monday noon, the night reception, located at 33 rue Trachel, will be exceptionally open all day, in addition to the day reception, located at 14 avenue du XVe-Corps, open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beyond a reception in an air-conditioned site, a good hydration as well as a distribution of food pouch will be ensured. The night reception will remain open 24 hours a day as many days as necessary.

Hydration, care, cool room

The Blue plan has been activated in residential establishments for the elderly. Actions relating to their hydration, their care, their support in a cooled room (each establishment has an air-conditioned place) are put in place and people with disabilities or elderly people from outside the establishments can be welcomed there.

Calls from the municipal social action center

At the same time, prevention messages (voice or SMS) are sent to seniors who appear on the register of isolated people, i.e. 2,533 registered on July 1. And CCAS agents intervene with these people, if necessary, through a home visit.
