Temperatures that can exceed 30° degrees but less heavy heat than in recent weeks. How to explain this phenomenon ? It is the consequence of an unusual current, points out the meteorologist.
As usual, during periods when the mercury rises sharply, the wind comes from the southeast or south and the air is therefore more laden with humidity. In addition, the “dew points” (note, the temperatures at which the air is completely saturated with humidity) are relatively high, explains Frank Duboccage.
On the contrary, the current wave is rather carried by an east to northeast wind and the dew points are very low and the air is dry, specifies the expert: “It is hot, that’s for sure, but it’s still reasonable.”
This Thursday, temperatures will reach 25°C by the sea and 28 to 33°C in the interior of the country. Mercury is expected to remain at significant levels through the end of the weekend.
