On the afternoon of February 4, continuing his working trip to Binh Dinh province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the inauguration ceremony of Dong Mit reservoir in An Lao district, Binh Dinh.
According to Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, Dong Mit water reservoir has a capacity of nearly 90 million m3, is responsible for supplying water to irrigate 6,742 ha, creating a source of water for daily life, industry and services; contribute to reducing flooding, pushing salinity for downstream, solving the problem of water shortage for the northern districts of Binh Dinh.
This is an important project of Binh Dinh province implementing the master program of sustainable agricultural development to adapt to climate change. The project has an investment of more than 2,100 billion VND, applying new design and construction technology.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged, praised and highly appreciated the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Party Committee, authorities and people of Binh Dinh province; especially the people in the project area, the participating units have made great efforts to implement and complete the project ahead of schedule, ensuring quality.
In the process of construction implementation, despite facing many difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the great efforts and determination of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the coordination of various departments, ministries and branches The central government, with the support of the government and people of the project area, up to now, the project has been completed, qualified to put into operation and use, meeting the expectations of the Party Committee, local authorities and people. . To build, Binh Dinh province had to resettle the entire commune to ensure timely and quickly stabilize the material and spiritual life of 1,563 households who had to be relocated and affected by the project.
The Prime Minister asked Binh Dinh province to direct relevant units to have an effective exploitation plan; at the same time, research and develop economic and tourism activities in order to well exploit the potential and advantages of Dong Mit lake.
