Hearts break.. this is how a Syrian girl returns from her school to the displacement tent

Her small feet did not help her to avoid the disasters of a war that decimated stone and humans, so a video clip that spread like wildfire during the past hours on social media showed her returning from her school in a catastrophic situation.

A Syrian girl appeared from the camps for the displaced in the northwest of the country, walking cautiously, clinging to the walls to avoid puddles of water and mud left by the rain amid the displacement tents.

She also appeared, trying hard not to miss the path, jumping into one of the dirty pools, damaging her clothes and a bag that the United Nations Children’s Fund “UNICEF” gave her, which she carried on her back.

The video spread widely, until its echo reached the Deputy Regional Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs at the United Nations, who in turn republished it on his Twitter account, commenting: “This is how you drive from school when you live in a camp,” referring to the child’s way of walking and her life conditions.

very difficult situations

It is noteworthy that the very difficult humanitarian conditions experienced by the displaced in the north of Syria have been exacerbated by the winter, freezing cold and rain that flooded their tents without solutions.

And the Syrian Civil Defense reported last month that nearly 500 families were left in the open after their tents were destroyed in northwest Syria.

Statistics point out that more than 80% of the displaced are women and children, and many of the remaining men are the elderly, people with disabilities and other groups at risk, amid the almost complete inability of international organizations to make any change.
