Heartfelt congratulations to the nation for the peaceful and violence-free conduct of general elections: ISPR

Pak forces have congratulated the nation for the peaceful conduct of general elections. According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Army, 137,000 military personnel and civil armed forces have been deployed at 6,000 highly sensitive polling stations and more than 7,800 Quick Response Force troops have ensured a safe environment for the public.

A statement released by the ISPR said, “We heartily congratulate the nation for the peaceful and violence-free conduct of the general elections. The armed forces along with the law enforcement agencies are proud to have conducted the holy election.” During the conduct of the process, provided security and helped civil institutions and played an important role according to the Constitution of Pakistan.

Despite 51 cowardly terrorist attacks, mostly in KP and Balochistan, aimed at disrupting the electoral process, security officials remained steadfast, killing 12 people (including security forces and law enforcement agencies). 39 others were injured while 5 terrorists were also killed during various operations.

Spokesman of Pakistan Army said that peace and security was effectively ensured throughout Pakistan, many potential threats were neutralized through active intelligence and prompt action to protect the democratic rights of our citizens. It shows the unwavering commitment of the security agencies.

According to the ISPR, we thank the other law enforcement agencies who worked with the armed forces to protect the democratic process. It will pave the way for further strengthening of democracy and fulfilling the aspirations of the people.
