In search of a first point in Major League Soccer (MLS), Charlotte FC narrowly failed on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Jake Mulraney scored in the seventh minute of added time in the second half and Atlanta United FC won 2-1.

The expansion team was well on its way to extracting a draw. Indeed, Adam Armor had equalized in the 66th minute by redirecting a corner kick with a header. It was the very first goal in the franchise’s history.
Josef Martinez was the other scorer in the game with a penalty shot in the 60th minute.
Charlotte FC will look for a first victory on Saturday by hosting the New England Revolution.
