The province’s Ministry of Health works on different health promotion and prevention actions, with the aim of providing accessibility to public health to the entire community.
In this context, on Thursday, the team from the Department of Maternity, Childhood and Adolescence held a workshop for children and adolescents who attend the summer camp at the Valle Viejo municipal pool; Likewise, the teachers in charge also participated in the meeting.
During the day, recommendations were provided to maintain a healthy diet, the importance of food to have a good quality of life and avoid diseases, at all ages. On the other hand, sun care was also explained, especially in summer; The importance of avoiding sun exposure and the use of sun protection during peak hours was addressed.
In this regard, the reference for Maternity, Childhood and Adolescence, Silvana Montenegro explained that “this time the workshop was aimed at children who attend the colony, since they are always intended for the adults in charge.” Likewise, she added that “we are talking regarding insolation and sun protection; and also regarding the importance of healthy eating in boys and girls”.
The topics addressed during the meeting allow us to work on the prevention of some diseases, so it is very important that the youngest also know the importance of care and that they know what the consequences are for health if they are not put into practice.
