Health unions have drawn up an escalating program of struggle that begins with a national general strike for two consecutive days.

In this context, the national union coordination in the health sector, which includes 8 unions working in the sector, decided to implement an escalation program of struggle that begins with a national general strike for health workers for 48 hours on Wednesday and Thursday, April 24 and 25, in all health institutions nationwide, with the exception of departments. The eight unions are: the National University of Health (UMT), the National Union of Public Health (FDSH), the Independent Union of Public Sector Physicians, the Independent Union of Nurses, the National University of the Health Sector (UNTM), the National Union of Health (CDT), and the Democratic Organization for Health ( ODT) and the National University of Health (UGTM), that its general clerks held an emergency meeting yesterday, Friday, April 19, at the Lawyers’ Club in Rabat, in order to unify efforts within the framework of national coordination between all unions working in the public health sector.

This, and following extensive discussion, health union coordination appreciated this unprecedented unitary step in the health sector, and stressed the need for the government to interact with the expectations of health workers of all categories and respond to their legitimate demands, starting with implementing all the contents of the agreements signed with the unions, while adhering to the necessity of preserving all The rights and gains of health professionals, most importantly the status of a public employee and all the guarantees guaranteed in the general statute of public employment, and decided to hold meetings of the union bodies that make up the coordination in order to formulate an escalating struggle program until all the just demands of the various categories of health professionals are achieved.
