83 dead since the start of winter

712 serious cases of influenza are currently admitted to intensive care. 48% are between 15 and 64 years old. 42% are over 65 years old. 3% are under 14 years old. The flu killed 83 people in France this winter: 40 people over 65, 40 people aged 15 to 64 and 3 children and adolescents under 15.

Public Health France recalls that respecting barrier gestures is essential, as for Covid-19, to limit the risk of transmission of the flu.

Can we still get vaccinated?

The flu vaccination campaign continues until February 28, 2023. The flu usually lasts until March. Vaccination is recommended for people at risk of developing a severe form of influenza, which are the same as Covid-19: people over 65, patients under 65 with certain chronic diseases, pregnant women, people suffering from obesity. The flu is a highly contagious disease that can be serious. Vaccination is open to everyone.
