The General Election Commission (KPU) of Tasikmalaya Regency conducted a health check for the candidate pair for Regent and Deputy Regent Cecep Nurul Yakin-Asep Sopari Al Ayubi. The examination was carried out at the KH Zainal Musthafa Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

The examination was carried out to ensure that the candidates for Regent and Deputy Regent of Tasikmalaya were in good physical, mental and spiritual health.

The Cecep-Asep pair were handled by a medical team consisting of 40 health workers including doctors from KHZ Musthafa Regional Hospital, with supervision from the KPU and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of Tasikmalaya Regency.

Director of the KHZ Musthafa Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Iman Firmansyah said the health check was carried out after Asr, according to the schedule set by the KPU. It also took into account that health services provided to the general public would not be disrupted even though there were interests related to the Simultaneous Regional Elections.

“The examination includes three main stages, namely physical from head to toe to supporting blood tests, urine, ultrasound, and CT-scan, as well as psychological and psychometric tests. The results of the examination will be reported directly to the KPU as part of the candidate’s eligibility assessment process, and before being reported, all doctors involved will hold a meeting to formulate conclusions from the examination results after the entire process is complete,” said Iman in Tasikmalaya, West Java, Saturday (31/8).

Meanwhile, Tasikmalaya Regent candidate Cecep Nurul Yakin hopes that all parties involved can maintain good service quality during the examination process. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining high health service standards during the 2024 Pilkada.

“The examination scheduled in the afternoon is very appropriate, because it gives priority to public health services. We have a vision and mission, committed to improving the quality of health services through the Cerdas program, which emphasizes the importance of physical and mental health of the community,” he explained.
