Health strengthened health centers with expansions, equipment and more trained personnel

Asunción, IP Agency.- This year, the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare expanded several services such as emergencies, laboratories, common rooms, and Intensive Care Units distributed in the different hospitals and care centers in the national territory.

The State portfolio has been strengthening the country’s health system, increasing several services in recent months, mainly during the new coronavirus pandemic; Thus, the Family Health Units have also been strengthened with the expansion and renovation in the different departments.

One of the key investments, which contributed significantly to the fight once morest covid-19, has been the construction, on the premises of the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases and the Environment (Ineram) and the National Hospital of Itauguá, of two contingency hospitals. , with which more common beds and therapy beds for respiratory conditions were provided, as well as the hiring of more white-collar personnel.

In terms of human resources, 3,676 people joined the country’s different services from January to date, of which 1,722 are nursing graduates, 785 doctors, 660 service personnel, 273 white-collar technicians, 137 biochemists, 50 assistants, 26 graduates, and 23 support staff.

The target personnel were assigned to provide service in different health posts: 475 for the National Hospital of Itauguá, 333 for the Tenth Health Region of Alto Paraná, 315 for Ineram, 121 for the Eighth Health Region of Misiones, 116 for the Sixth Region Caazapá Sanitary, 105 for the Fifth Sanitary Region of Caaguzú, 101 in the First Sanitary Region of Concepción, and 101 in the Laboratory Network.

Likewise, other regions of the country were also strengthened with the hiring of more white personnel, for the Seventh Health Region of Itapúa, 85 people were incorporated, 79 in Amambay, 77 in Canindeyú, 77 in Paraguarí, 64 in Guairá, 64 in the Maternal Hospital San Pablo Children’s Hospital, 60 in the Central Laboratory, 58 in San Pedro, 56 in the Acosta Ñu Pediatric Hospital, 51 in SEME, and 50 for Boquerón.

Equally 49 people were hired for the District Hospital of Ñemby, 47 for the Hospital of Limpio, 43 in Ñeembucú, 39 for the Eleventh Health Region, 39 for the Institute of Tropical Medicine, 36 for Call Center, 31 for the Hospital of Capiatá, 30 for the Luque Hospital, and 22 in Barrio Obrero, among others.

The laboratories recently strengthened to carry out covid-19 tests are Alto Paraná, Misiones, Coronel Oviedo, Ineram, and Barrio Obrero, among others that make up the National Laboratory Network.

Also notable is the increase in Family Health Units throughout the country, with the expansion and renovation in the different departments, including San Pedro, Alto Paraná, Central, Cordillera, Amambay, Paraguarí, Boquerón, among others.

Likewise, at the national level, 201 more beds were expanded for adult, pediatric and neonatal intensive care, totaling 509, with the incorporation of high-end equipment such as respirators, monitors, incubators and the training of 1,420 non-intensivist doctors and nurses. who currently serve in hospitals in Alto Paraná, Amambay, Coronel Oviedo, Ineram and the National Hospital of Itauguá, among others.
