Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, directed to increase the number of medical teams working in emergency departments in all hospitals, to ensure the provision of the best medical services to frequent patients, as part of the ministry’s strategy to improve the public health of citizens.
This came during the minister’s weekly meeting, today, Monday, with the ministry’s leaders and heads of agencies, and with the participation of all the ministry’s undersecretaries in the governorates via the “video conference” technology, to follow up the progress of work in the various files of the ministry, and to identify challenges and obstacles and work to overcome them, to ensure the continuation of providing the best medical services. for patients.
During the meeting, the Minister stressed the need to intensify the periodic traffic on medical facilities to follow up the workflow in all its departments, especially the emergency departments, in order to identify problems and challenges and work to solve them, directed by increasing the number of medical teams working in the emergency departments in all hospitals, and intensifying the training courses provided to them. To raise their efficiency to ensure providing the best medical service to patients.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the meeting discussed developments in the work within the “Tele Medicine” telemedicine system, where 21,741 cases were debated since the launch of the system until the beginning of November.
Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that the initiative for early detection of liver tumors and the national program for the treatment of AIDS and tuberculosis have been included in the remote medical diagnosis system, in addition to the completion of linking the network of specialized medical councils with the system of remote medical consultations, and the system is scheduled to operate during the coming period. He referred to the work to launch training courses for Upper Egypt doctors in the specializations of liver and pancreas surgeries and liver transplantation.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the minister was briefed during the meeting on a detailed presentation on the developments of the Egyptian Medical Guidelines Action Plan, where he was briefed on the steps that have been implemented, which included; (forming the Supreme Committee, selecting and equipping the national guideline center, identifying priority medical specialties, holding meetings with the competent authorities to discuss aspects of cooperation, collecting guidebooks from all sectors of the ministry), as more than 140 guidebooks were collected for more than 40 specializations, as well He expressed his knowledge of the steps to be implemented during the coming period, directing the speedy completion in accordance with the specified timetables.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the minister was briefed on the system for monitoring influenza and acute respiratory diseases in Egypt, which included the number of infections in the period from January to November 2022, where a slight increase in the number of people infected with the influenza virus was detected in conjunction with the beginning of the winter season, stressing that no monitoring was made. Any new mutations of the virus.
Abdel Ghaffar indicated that the meeting included a discussion of the project to develop the Trauma and Emergency Center in Ismailia Governorate, in accordance with international quality standards, in a way that maximizes the provision of curative and preventive services to all those who frequent it, explaining that the center links several roads and main axes, given its strategic location on the Ismailia / Desert Cairo.
