Health services are suspended in the Intermediate Unit of Castilla for failing to comply with sanitary regulations

The Sectional Secretariat of Health of Antioquia services in the Intermediate Unit of Metrosalud de Castilla were sealed this Wednesday followingnoon, which forced the transfer of hospitalized patients to other care centers in the city.

According to information known by EL COLOMBIANO, the notification of the decision arrived at the health center around 4:30 in the followingnoon and it was formalized with the imposition of a seal on the entrance door to the headquarters.

The cause, according to the Health Department, was the non-compliance with sanitary regulations specified in Resolution 2003 of 2019, which defined the procedures and conditions for the provision of health services by system operators.

According to the relatives of a 90-year-old patient who has been hospitalized there since last Sunday, the old woman will be transferred at night to the intermediate unit of the corregimiento San Cristóbal, which causes them concern since this medical center is much further from their home to visit and accompany her.

“At this moment they are not receiving any patients, they return all of them, they tell them to go to other units in Manrique, San Javier or San Cristóbal. It is going to be much harder for us with our grandmother, because San Cristóbal is very far away and we live in Alfonso López,” said the source.

In November this same center was closed for 15 days due to a failure in one of the elevators.

Although we tried to obtain a more precise explanation regarding the reasons that led to the sealing of the Intermediate Unit, it was not possible to obtain it.
