As the Vivons Vélo association did on the same Saussé site three weeks ago (with a strong participation of members of the Amicale Cycliste de l’Estaque), the solidarity riders, informed or occasional cycle tourists, rode together in favor of du Pasteurdon, an annual awareness-raising and call for donations operation carried out by the Pasteur Institute, carried out throughout the territory.
This solidarity peloton was started in April and was structured around the meetings given by Vivons vélo.
Ride with an ultra-ride champion
This time, the Côte bleue Vélo club provided the bulk of the peloton, around fifteen units leaving the port, but which grew stronger throughout the hour long ride on the Blue Coast. At its head, the charismatic organizer and ultra rider (holder of incredible records such as nine consecutive ascents of Ventoux in the same day!), Richard Patrosso. On his name alone, the athlete will have attracted many amateur riders for six months, happy to be able to come and cycle with such an extreme champion. For the always very humble person concerned, “the important thing is their presence“, synonymous with donations by its professional team to medical research, and this Saturday, October 7, more precisely for Pasteurdon. “A real Let’s Bike community was born“, noted Richard Patrosso, showing his pride by taking stock of these seven months of solidarity cycling events.
Proof of a successful business, the leader, his partners and the troop of united pedalers for a day have already made an appointment to come back cycling together next year.
Until then, the Vélo club Côte bleue plans to remobilize its troops in numbers within two weeks, for the last Saturday in October, with a large Saussé associative deployment organized in favor of the fight once morest breast cancer .
