Health raised awareness about healthy eating

The Ministry of Public Health of the Province, through the Nutrition Directorate, carried out awareness tasks this Friday with a healthy season within the framework of World Food Day.

In this context, an information stand with allusive brochures was installed, blood pressure controls, anthropometric measurements (weight and height), blood glucose measurement and nutritional counseling were carried out. The activity took place in the healthy station of Plaza Cabral.

We worked together with students from the University of Cuenca del Plata de la Carrera, of the degree in Nutrition.

“This health operation had as its objective the active search for patients within the framework of World Food Day, in which we carried out a weight and height control circuit with nutritional diagnosis, distribution of brochures and counseling, also taking blood pressure and glycemia”, said the Director of Nutrition, María Luz Gómez Jensen.

And he added: “The response of the people was positive, with a great call, and these data obtained help us to make the relevant referrals to the Caps of the capital or the interior, taking into account the need of each case.”

Every October 16, World Food Day is commemorated in order to promote the constancy of our daily actions, becoming aware of the importance of having a complete and balanced nutrition.

That is why it is important to promote the consumption of natural and homemade foods, thus supporting farmers and local food system workers, who work to have food available to consume.
