Hossam Hosny, head of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona in the Ministry of Health and Population, said for the seventh day: Molnopiravir helps people infected with Covid-19 to stay outside the hospital and feel better.

He added that the indications for the use of the drug molonopiravir are represented in its administration in the case of a mild to moderate infection of COVID-19, noting that the drug was approved in the United Kingdom to reduce the risks of hospitalization and death in cases of mild to moderate COVID-19 for patients at increased risk of infection. Serious illnesses (eg obesity, diabetes, heart disease, or those over 60 years old).

Regarding the doses of molonoperavir, he said: It is four capsules of 200 mg every 12 hours for 5 days, and treatment with molonoperavir must begin, within 5 days of the appearance of symptoms of Covid-19, and he continued: It is not recommended to breastfeed during treatment and for 4 days following the last dose of Molopiravir and molopiravir are only permitted for use by a pregnant woman following a healthcare provider has determined that the benefits will outweigh the risks for that individual patient. Mollupiravir is not permitted for use in patients under 18 years of age because it may affect bone and cartilage growth.
