Health: President Sisi is keen to provide all support to doctors and members of the health team

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the minister stressed – at the beginning of the meeting – the importance of continuous communication and coordination between the ministry and all medical professions unions, to achieve the aspirations and desires of health service providers, which are expressed by those unions.

He pointed out that the minister stressed the keenness of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic, to provide all means of material and moral support to doctors, and his appreciation for the efforts of all health sector workers, in order to provide the best medical services to patients.

Abdel Ghaffar said that the minister directed the activation of the union ministerial committee, to serve as an effective channel of communication between the two sides, to discuss and discuss issues and files of common interest.

Abdel Ghaffar added that the meeting discussed a number of files to support the health sector, most notably the “Medical Responsibility” law, which is scheduled to be discussed in the House of Representatives during the month of October, following the return of work in the legislative term, where the minister stressed the importance of this law in the governance of work in the sector. health in a manner that guarantees the rights of both the patient and the medical service provider.

He added that the meeting discussed the “assignment of doctors” file, as the two sides stressed the importance of joint coordination to achieve justice in the distribution of doctors over the assignment, while the minister directed a review of the efficiency of doctors’ housing, as well as the doctors’ rest rooms in hospitals, and the provision of all adequate means of subsistence for them.

Abdul Ghaffar pointed out that the minister referred to a circular directing that the medical facility is responsible in its capacity for reporting and taking all necessary legal measures to protect the rights of doctors in the event of verbal or physical abuse, to ensure their rights in such individual practices.

Abdul Ghaffar noted that the meeting discussed the decision to extend the work of doctors following they reach the retirement age, as the minister confirmed the continuation of that decision in the medical field, not in the administrative field, to benefit from the experiences of these cadres and competencies in providing high-quality medical services.

Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that the two sides discussed the file of training doctors, as the minister pointed to the importance of concluding contracts between Egyptian hospitals and universities to benefit from the expertise of university professors, which would reflect positively on the services provided to patients. The meeting also discussed the file of facilities for obtaining licenses for private medical facilities, and they stressed The two sides require joint coordination between the Ministry and the Syndicate to facilitate the procedures for obtaining licenses and to overcome any challenges or obstacles.

The meeting was attended by Major General Wael Al-Saei, Assistant Minister for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Al-Tayeb, Advisor to the Minister for Governance and Technical Affairs, Dr. Sahar Helmy, Head of the Training and Research Sector, Dr. Hazem El-Feel, Head of the Therapeutic Medicine Sector, Counselor Mohamed El-Minshawi, Legal Adviser to the Minister of Health, and Dr. Hisham Zaki, Head of the Central Administration For non-governmental medical institutions.

The delegation of the General Syndicate of Physicians included Dr. Jamal Amira, the Syndicate’s representative, Dr. Muhammad Farid, the Syndicate’s Secretary-General, Dr. Ahmed Hussein, the Assistant Secretary-General, Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Qadi, the Syndicate’s Treasurer, and Dr. Mustafa Ashoub, the Assistant Secretary of the Physicians Syndicate’s Fund.
