The Secretary of Health of the Government of the State of Colima reported that through the “Friendly Services for Adolescents” that it has in the ten municipalities of the entity, it offers guidance on issues of sexuality, contraceptive methodology, prevention of dating violence, guidance in life project and emotional health, among other topics.
These actions allow adolescents to develop skills so that they can systematically live their sexuality fully, taking care to preserve their physical, emotional and mental health at all times.
The State Coordination of the Unit’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Component for Adolescents indicated that adolescent pregnancy is a period of life that brings with it a series of consequences for women in terms of their health, school education, their economy, work, in your family and in your partner.
Likewise, early motherhood and fatherhood often have serious negative effects on the sons and daughters of adolescents, exposing them to adverse conditions that hinder their development.
Such consequences can be: premature birth of the baby, low birth weight, anemia (low iron levels), higher infant mortality rate and increased risk of cephalopelvic disproportion (the baby’s head is wider than the pelvic opening).
There is a wide variety of contraceptive methods that both women and men can use in order to avoid an unwanted pregnancy.
For more information, he asked adolescents to search for the complete directory of “Friendly Services for Adolescents” on the digital platforms of the Secretary of Health of the Government of the State of Colima.
