The Health Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, headed by Dr. Ashraf Hatem, discussed, during its meeting this evening, a request for a briefing submitted by Representative Sanaa Barghash, regarding the failure to take any measures regarding what the Minister of Health previously indicated regarding the establishment of a mental health hospital and addiction treatment in Beheira Governorate within the Ministry’s plans, with no Exploitation of integration hospitals, as well as the necessity of opening and operating the burn unit and poison unit and increasing the number of intensive care beds and nurseries equipped with high-frequency respirators at Damanhour Teaching Hospital – Beheira Governorate.
The representative of the Ministry of Health confirmed the approval of establishing a hospital for mental health and addiction treatment at Al-Takamul Hospital in Barquqa in Damanhour Center to serve the Beheira Governorate.
Representative Sanaa Barghash reviewed the request for briefing before the committee, and talked regarding all the procedures and correspondence that took place over the previous years to finalize the approvals of the competent secretariats and all concerned authorities in the Beheira Governorate and the Health Directorate to establish the project.
Barghash pointed out the importance of establishing a hospital for mental health and addiction treatment in Beheira Governorate to serve the people of the governorate in all its centers and villages.
