Health Monitor demanded this Sunday that booster vaccines once morest covid-19 reach all health centers in the country and assured that only 73% of hospitals have received the third dose to vaccinate their staff.
“We demand that the booster vaccines reach all our health centers. We continue to register a lack of protective material above 90%, which puts workers at risk ”. This was said on his Twitter by Mauro Zambrano, leader of this organization that brings together numerous employees in the sector.
The request takes place following the booster vaccination phase formally began in the country on January 3, with which the inoculation scheme will be completed, in the first instance, to health workers.
According to information offered last week by the Minister of Health, Carlos Alvarado, the country has all the necessary doses and the first to be vaccinated would be the doctors and nurses in direct contact with covid patients, and then the rest of the healthcare workers, including paramedics and firefighters.
The official indicated that the first days of the reinforcement phase, he would be vaccinated in hospitals, clinics and Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers. Then, the following week, the process would advance to all the inoculation centers authorized in the country.
However, Monitor Salud reported in a press release released by Zambrano that, according to a study carried out in 63 health centers in 21 states of the country plus Caracas, only 46 hospitals said they had received the booster doses and in 26% of these “Not only” were health personnel being vaccinated, “but space was also being given to the general population.”

In this sense, the union recalled the need to protect and consider health personnel a priority, “as they are those who are exposed daily” to covid-19.
He added that only in 86% of the health establishments that received booster doses in the week of January 3 to 9, began the process of applying the third dose, since the remaining 14% “have application schedules for the third doses different from the one that has been followed up to now ”, stated the Health Monitor.
According to the data released by President Nicolás Maduro, 91% of the Venezuelan population is vaccinated, although he did not clarify if they have one or two doses necessary to achieve immunity.
