Health modified the isolation protocol for positive cases

The Ministry of Health of the Province decided to modify the Protocol of Isolation for COVID-positive patients and their close contacts, according to a complete or incomplete vaccination schedule.

This occurs within the framework of the epidemiological transition in the context of COVID-19taking into account the advances in the Vaccination Campaign (according to their percentages and effects) and noting that the number of people hospitalized fell.

The Minister of Health, Manuela Ávila, approved the isolation recommendations established by the National Ministry of Health, which are as follows:

POSITIVE PEOPLE WITH A COMPLETE VACCINATION SCHEDULE (2 initial doses plus booster, depending on the progress of the Vaccination Campaign): 5 days of isolation.

POSITIVE PEOPLE WITH INCOMPLETE VACCINATION SCHEDULE (2 incomplete initial doses or more than 4 months without any booster applied): 7 days of isolation.

Cohabitants and close non-cohabiting contacts should not be isolatedbut they must reinforce the following preventive measures:

*Ensure the ventilation of the environments, adequate and frequent hand hygiene, cough or sneeze into the elbow crease, and in the presence of symptoms do not go to work, social, educational activities, public places and avoid the use of public transport .

* Maintain general care measures for the prevention of respiratory diseases.

*Continue with the proper use of the chinstrap indoors, including work, education and public transportation.

If symptoms appear within 72 hours following contact with a positive person, a medical consultation should be made at the nearest health center.
