The Ministry of Health and Population has announced the steps for conducting premarital examinations at health units across various governorates, which include:
1- Visiting the health unit from 9 am to 2 pm.

2- Meeting with the counseling room for those preparing for marriage.

3- Undergoing a medical examination and printing the results.

4- Completing the medical examination at least 14 days prior to the marriage.

The Ministry of Health indicated that the medical examination for individuals preparing for marriage takes about an hour, starting from the registration of personal data until the completion of all tests and the provision of health advice.

It was added that the examination requires the presence of the individual to take medical and genetic samples for testing Mediterranean anemia and sickle cell anemia, which are then analyzed in central laboratories. Hence, these samples can only be taken from the individual undergoing the examination.

Regarding the computerized certificate, it is fully secure and features a QR code. It contains all the data regarding medical examination results, and the national ID of the other party is also included. Moreover, it has been electronically connected to the secure documents complex, thereby eliminating any manipulation that previously occurred with health certificates.

The Ministry of Health mentioned that all stages of the initiative are conducted through an electronic system, which includes medical examinations for those wishing to undergo the premarital examination. This system facilitates the transfer of individuals to hospitals and specialized centers for advanced medical examinations, securing the necessary treatments, and issuing secure electronic certificates enhanced with QR codes to prevent tampering and forgery of the modern health certificate.
