Health: Examination of one million and 745 thousand students in the first year of middle school to detect the C virus

The Ministry of Health and Population announced the examination of 1,745,408 students, as part of the President of the Republic’s initiative for the early detection of “C” virus among first-grade students for free, for the fourth year in a row, under the slogan “100 million health”, since the launch of the current phase of the initiative. On the 21st of last November until the beginning of the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

This comes in accordance with the directives of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, to continue the initiative’s work for 5 years in a row for middle school students, to ensure that Egypt is kept free of the “C” virus.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the initiative aims to examine 2 million and 500 thousand students in the first grade of the preparatory stage during the current academic year, pointing out that “Al-Haza” was the highest governorate in the examination rate since the launch of the initiative; Where 166,427 students were examined, followed by Cairo Governorate, with 160,70 students, then Sharkia Governorate 136,537 students, and Beheira Governorate 128,931 students.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Dahi, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Insurance, said that the work of the initiative includes conducting examinations for students inside schools using rapid reagents, through 419 medical teams affiliated with the General Authority for Health Insurance.

Dr. Heba Saeed, the general coordinator of the initiative at the General Authority for Health Insurance, confirmed that the necessary analyzes and examinations were carried out, and treatment was given free of charge, for cases that were confirmed to be infected with the “C” virus, as soon as they were discovered during the examination in schools, following referring them to the liver committees, in all branches of the General Authority for Health Insurance. At the level of the governorates of the Republic.
