Health and Wellness Campaign Launched by Ministry of Women, Families, and Children: Chief of Staff Encourages Testing and Awareness

The Ministry of Women, Families and Children (Mffe), through its Medical-Social Unit (Cms), in collaboration with the Social Strategies Support Program (Pass) and the National Program for Unhealthy Diseases communicable diseases of the Ministry of Health, launched the screening, prevention and awareness campaign for breast cancer, cervical cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure coupled with an ophthalmological consultation. It was Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Cocody Nord socio-educational complex. Scheduled for two days, this campaign, according to cabinet director Moussa Diarrassouba, targets all Mffe agents and all populations. Because, he says, the health and well-being of the population are the government’s priorities. “Everyone must have a health check-up every year to detect silent ailments that are brewing in the body, and thus enable better treatment of pathologies very early on. For this, I encourage everyone to come to this activity, as well as their loved ones, their families,” he invited. He also indicated that these days will be marked by awareness sessions, screening and clinical examinations at lower cost. Moussa Diarrassouba thus congratulated this initiative of the Cms which allows all ministry agents and all social classes to have their health check-up at a reduced price. It was also an opportunity for him to encourage the actors to regularly carry out their health check-ups, a guarantee of their well-being. For her part, the director of the Mffe medico-social unit, Dr Solange Amethier, also the head pilot of this activity, called on agents to come massively to be screened. “Being screened early can increase the cure rate and reduce mortality. People must make systematic health checks an annual routine,” she advised. Solange Amethier also noted that breast cancer, high blood pressure and diabetes remain public health problems and require the mobilization of everyone to provide appropriate responses.
