For Lilia, a resident of Pineto Sacchetti, a residential area in northern Rome, encounters with wild boars are almost daily. “They usually arrive in the late followingnoon, around 5 p.m. They quietly rummage through the garbage overflowing from the public bins. They are not afraid of us. If I’m with my dog, I dare not cross the gate of my building for fear that he will attack the wild boars. I don’t want him to be disemboweled.”
