The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has learned through the Coordinated System for Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI) of an alert notification sent by the health authorities of the Basque Country related to the presence of milk not included in the labelling of sausages.
Specifically, the affected products are different types of salami: ‘Salchichón bellota Eroski Seleqtia 80g’ (batch 1722410) and ‘Salchichón cular cebo ibérico Eroski’ (with an expiration date prior to August 21, 2024 and sold in different formats of envelopes and prepared boards).
The supermarket chain has issued a statement asking that “those allergic to milk or lactose intolerant refrain from consuming these products.” However, this does not pose any risks for non-allergic people.
They have also provided the codes of the affected products. The first 7 digits of the code identify the product, the rest of the numbers vary depending on the store that packages it.

Eroski has notified the supplier of the meat products, ‘Jamones y Embutidos JAEM’, as well as the competent authorities, proceeding to withdraw the product. In addition, they state that those consumers who wish to do so may return the affected products to the stores, where they will be reimbursed.
