In a video posted by Yevgeny Prigozhin on the messaging app Telegram, he stood on the roof of a tall building and claimed to be in Bakhmut, Agence France-Presse reported.
Pointing to a building in the distance, Prigogine said: “That’s the city hall, the city center, 1 kilometer and 200 meters from my location.”
He said the most important thing now was for Wagner’s forces to get the ammunition and then “move forward”.
Wagner mercenaries are Russia’s attack on Bakhmut and moreUkraineThe vanguard of the eastern city. The battle around Bakhmut has become the longest and bloodiest battle since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in a year, and both armies suffered heavy casualties.
Prigozin is an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, but he continues to be embroiled in a power struggle with the Russian Defense Ministry.
In addition to declaring battlefield victories one step earlier than the Russian government forces many times, Prigozin also criticized the Russian military leaders in speeches, accusing the government forces of not distributing ammunition to his motley troops.
