HEAD of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) Benny Rhamdani confirmed that he will fulfill the invitation from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police, Monday (29/7) afternoon to explain the matter of the initials T which he conveyed to the public some time ago.

“Yes, I will be there this afternoon. Many people want to come, including lawyers. But this is just a clarification, I will come alone,” he said.

He said that revealing the initials was not his job but that of law enforcement officers. However, T is a figure who has so far been immune from the law regarding illegal workers in Cambodia.

“The media is also misleading. So what I mean is that in every illegal labor force abroad, there must be someone (the perpetrator) who controls it. In Cambodia, it is in gambling places, in Arabia, it is domestic workers,” he said.

This statement by the initials T was indeed delivered at a limited meeting at the presidential palace in 2023.

At that time, several ministers were present, such as Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziah, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, State Secretary Pratikno, President Joko Widodo, Vice President Maaruf Amin and others.

“During the limited meeting, I conveyed the issue of human trafficking (TPPO). I conveyed what my duties were and what I knew about TPPO. At that time, the president was shocked,” he said.

Previously, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the National Police Headquarters said that Benny Rhamdani was summoned for his statement about the initials T, the controller of online gambling in Indonesia, which is untouchable by law. (Z-3)
