Kayaker Josef Dostál won the 1000 meter race, completed his collection and won the third gold for the Czech team in Paris. The 31-year-old representative added the most valuable medal to the silver and three bronzes he won at the Games in London, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.
In the area in Vaires-sur-Marne, Dostál followed up on Friday’s triumph of canoeist Martin Fuksa. The Hungarian Ádám Varga finished second behind the five-time world champion, his countryman and defending gold medalist Bálint Kopasz finished third.
Dostál’s fiancee Anežka Paloudová, after fourth place in her semi-final run, finished seventh in the final B of the 500 meter race and finished fifteenth overall.
