The award will take place amid stormy developments in SYRIZA as the party marches towards the new polls, while it is possible to coincide with the announcements of Stefanos Kasselakis and Sokratis Famellos, who are one step away from entering the leadership race. It is noted that Alexis Tsipras has so far kept a fishy silence about internal party developments and has chosen not to take a position on what is unfolding on the internal party chessboard.
At the same event, “the bi-communal movement of coexistence in a united Cyprus” will be awarded and the distinction will be awarded to Giorgos Liassi, president of the Greek Cypriot Refugee Union, and Neshe Yashin, Turkish Cypriot poet, professor at the University of Cyprus.
The event will be presented and moderated by journalist Gianna Papadakou.
