A neighbor from Bahia was the victim of a scam for more than 2 million pesos, in payments he made in pesos and dollars for the purchase of a car through an awarded plan.
“Everything starts with a phone call where they told me that they offered me the car for $147,000 to deliver it to me in 60 days, obviously paying 30% of the value of the car,” Marcelo Alonso said in the program Nunca es Tarde.
Alonso said that when they sent him the receipt, he suspected that it was issued by a company that was not the one with which he had agreed on the plan. However, he decided to go ahead with the purchase and to reduce the installments he made two more deposits, one for 5,000 dollars and 400,000 pesos.
“All good, they told me that the fees I had paid with the other company were going to recognize me,” he said.
After 15 days there is no way to communicate. “They disappeared from the face of the earth. They had all my plan information with the other company. How is that information filtered?” Alonso lamented.
The car he wanted to buy was close to 2,345,000 pesos, so he lost a good part of the money he had made available for that purchase. Alonso has already made the corresponding complaint, consigning the invoices and conversations by WhatsApp.
The company with which he had originally agreed on the awarded plan assured that it has nothing to do with the company that contacted Alonso and in fact requires him to catch up with the payment of the fees that he contracted with them.
