“He was a first-class ambianceur…”

It is while riding a bicycle with friends that the life ofAntonin, 31, abruptly stopped this Thursday, June 23. While he was near the famous Lobbes gate, a motorist in a little too much of a hurry wanted to overtake the group of cyclists traveling in the same direction. Realizing the obstacle in front of him, he suddenly turned to the right. Too abruptly for Antonin who, unlike his four friends, did not have time to throw himself onto the side. He was hit hard by the motorist who stopped his mad dash a little further.

Residing in Lobbes, Antonin was originally from Estinnes-au-Mont and had maintained close ties with his native village. He had been part of the Gilles du Center society for 15 years.
