A 19-year-old young man was arrested near the Cruz del Eje prison accused of trying to throw drugs into the establishment with a tire iron.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office reported that they seized 116 doses of marijuana and three cell phones. The operation was carried out in the last hours on Panama street in the vicinity of the prison complex.
According to an official statement, the suspect “apparently was trying to throw illegal substances into the prison using a slingshot.”
The case is being investigated by the Cruz del Axis Prosecutor’s Office for the Fight once morest Drug Trafficking, who ordered the transfer of the young man to court for alleged violation of the national law on narcotics.
The Córdoba Police reported that two men, aged 29 and 43, and a 41-year-old woman were also arrested during the procedure.
