He travels with an inflatable doll to take the carpooling lane: the unusual method to avoid traffic jams

An American was called to order by the Arizona police following being filmed by surveillance cameras circulating accompanied by a passenger who might not be more atypical: an inflatable doll bearing the image of the Grinch.

Surprise for this American policeman! During a police check, he was arrested by the unusual complexion of a passenger in a car traveling on the carpool lane. Stopping the driver to talk to his partner, he found himself face to face with the famous Grinch, in plastic.

Passenger with a greenish complexion

The doll accompanying the driver was the effigy of the Grinch, the famous christmas monster and scary spoilsport for the little ones. After a quick examination, the policeman found that the doll was indeed inert and not a carpooler. In the United States, in this western American state, motorists can borrow a priority queue dedicated to carpooling if there are several of them in the car.

Last week, an #AZTrooper spotted a driver in the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane with a Seusspicious-looking “passenger” on I-10 at Avondale Blvd at 8AM.

Un passager “Seuss-pect”

This is the pun of the state agent who arrested this fraudulent motorist. In a tweet, the Department of Public Safety wrote that the motorist was arrested while riding “in the carpool lane with a +passenger+Seuss-pect.” This suspicious passenger is none other than an inflatable doll bearing the image of the Grinch, a character invented by the Doctor Theodor Seussnow Seuss-pect.

While we appreciate the festive flair, this is illegal & the driver received a citation for the HOV violation. With extra traffic on AZ roads this time of year, be sure you understand the law (ARS 28-737) & restricted times before using HOV lanes. Don’t get caught with a #Grinch!

And if the policeman was quick to joke regarding the situation a posteriori, he still gave a fine to the driver who was playing spoilsport with his green doll. The US administration explained in its message that “if we enjoy the festive spirit, this is illegal”. Beware of jokes that play with the law, the holidays are not synonymous with relaxation.
