“I was supposed to start shooting The Witch today, but fate had a different view on that. I ended up in the hospital with dog bites on both arms and stomach,” he initially said. “I’m making this video because I wanted to say that the lady who had that pitbull that bit me disappeared right away. I don’t know if you can file a lawsuit, I don’t know what the process is,” he added.
“It was on the Mediterranean at the height of Agia Paraskevi. I saw it on the road by itself and stopped to the right. I have two dogs at home so I know things. The moment I approached it, the lady shouted at me “go away, it bites” and then it attacked me. He jumped on me and bit me on the stomach, I started screaming, I hid in a booth. By the time I got out of the booth the lady had disappeared,” the actor underlined.
In a subsequent publication made by Spyros Chatziagelakis, he revealed that the situation put him in a difficult position, thanking everyone who wished him well.
“Thank you very much for the messages you have sent me. Because it is probably not well understood how the incident started. At that time I was in great shock, anyway. I stopped on the street because this dog had left his master, off the leash and was roaming free in the Mediterranean. I saw its owner screaming left and right on the sidewalk, afraid her dog would get run over by cars, so knowing regarding dogs I turned right, signaled the drivers to stop, and the lady started chasing her dog, screaming to go to her. A completely wrong practice,” he initially said.
“I stayed outside the car and sat on my knees in case the dog came towards me, who was cooler and calmer. After they made a couple of laps behind my car, suddenly the dog came in front of me, it calmed down, it didn’t have a problem for a few seconds it stayed quiet. He let me touch it and followed the boss from behind who continued to scream and shout the moment she went to put the leash on him either because she felt safe or because she reacted from anxiety and fright or because she is used to wearing the leash and pulling, he immediately rushed into my hands”, he emphasized followingwards.
While closing, he declared shocked: “Too scary what can happen to you in Athens out of nowhere, I was very scared. I’ve had years of being so scared because you immediately think the worst, because when the dog owner doesn’t take responsibility and out of fear or whatever they run away, you’re a little freaked out, because you don’t know what the dog is up to, it makes sense for dogs to follow their instincts but at that moment you need him to tell you I’m here, the dog has been vaccinated, everything is fine and to relieve your stress.”
