The Bureau of the Walloon Parliament has decided to open a disciplinary file once morest the clerk of the assembly, Frédéric Janssens, suspended since mid-September following the filing of complaints for harassment and his involvement in the explosion of the expenses of the assembly, said Monday Me Jean Bourtembourg, the lawyer of the regional parliament.
The procedure for extending this preventive suspension is underway, with a reduction in his salary and the removal of the benefits linked to the exercise of his functions, he adds. There is also talk of reducing his salary by 9,000 euros net which he continues to receive, despite the current procedure.
Frédéric Janssens will be summoned later to explain himself, in respect of the rights of the defense, on the disciplinary reproaches which will be made to him and the pronouncement of a disciplinary sanction, continues the lawyer.
“Such procedures must imperatively be carried out in compliance with the rules governing the exercise of disciplinary power and the Bureau will make no comment on the content of the files or the course of the procedures until the pronouncement of the decisions.“, he finally warns.
