The Dubai Misdemeanor and Infractions Court ruled that an Arab young man be imprisoned for 3 months and deported from the country following serving his sentence, as he was convicted of stealing a passport, phone and personal belongings belonging to another who was swimming at GBR Beach in Dubai.
The details of the incident go back to last October when a visitor of an Arab nationality discovered the disappearance of a plastic bag in which he was keeping his personal belongings while he was doing swimming in the GBR area in Dubai. And he went swimming.
The whistleblower continued in the investigations that he discovered following returning from swimming at the same site that he had not found his belongings, so he tried to search for them in the vicinity of the beach, but he did not find them, so he reported the incident to the police.
According to the case file, a team of investigations collected inferences and unloaded surveillance cameras at the place, where it was found that the whistleblower’s belongings had been stolen by a person whose identity and whereregardings were identified, and during the interrogation he admitted that he stole the whistleblower’s belongings, as he found inside the plastic bag a phone that he sold for 250 dirhams to a person. Of the same nationality, as for the rest of the items, he admitted that he had disposed of them in the waste bin, and the court condemned him and ruled in its aforementioned ruling.
