A 25-year-old woman, identified as Sofía Anabel Sosa, was stabbed to death this Monday morning and her common-law husband was seriously injured.
Both attacks were carried out by the woman’s ex-partner, José Luis Gómez, 29, who escaped following committing the crime and was intensely wanted by the Police.
The femicide occurred in the woman’s home, located on Paso de los Andes and Magallanes in the El Talita neighborhood, in the town of Salsipuedes, where she lived with her current partner of 24 years.

According to the investigation, Gómez entered the house, stabbed her to death and then attacked her current partner with the same weapon, who suffered injuries in different parts of the body.
The assailant fled the scene. Alerted regarding the situation, the Police arrived at the home and found the bloody woman, no longer vital signs, and the seriously injured young man.
The spokesmen added that the injured person was transferred to a care center in the town of Unquillo.
The Colón Department Police mounted an operation to find the whereregardings of the attacker, an objective that was met around noon this Monday.
Last Thursday, Sofía Anabel had denounced Gómez for gender violence. She had been given a restraining order and a panic button. Despite these provisions, in the early hours of this Monday she was able to enter the house and ended the life of the woman.
The entire attack was witnessed by the victim’s daughter, a 4-year-old girl.
The investigation of the case was left in the hands of the prosecutor of the Family Violence Jurisdiction, Pablo Cuenca Tagle.
